The pay range for this role is £30,024 to £33,143 (pro rata for part time colleagues) with the opportunity for enhancements when working on Bank Holidays, on 'Night Work' (20:00 to 06:00) or if weekly hours exceed 37. You can also find out more about the new terms and conditions that we are introducing on our careers site on, 'More than just a job' brochure Role Purpose To ensure the functionality, comfort, safety, and efficiency of the built environment to create a positive experience for residents, staff, and visitors to BCP Council facilities. This role will primarily be based at Kings Park Leisure and Learning Centre, which offers a fresh, modern and newly opened sports hall and large multi-level soft play facility, as well as studio space and a cafe. The upper floor is utilised by Skills and Learning to deliver courses. Main Responsibilities Act as point of contact for enquiries and escalated complaints, providing information and resolution or referring the issue to ensure all facilities enquiries are responded to in a timely manner. Undertake a wide range of clerical support and administration duties such as producing standardised reports, obtaining quotes or maintaining databases, which may involve the operation of relevant systems or equipment. Co-ordinating staff, equipment and other resources to ensure the operational requirements of the service are met, including setting up and packing down equipment and cleaning tasks Respond to accidents and incidents ensuring that the situation is contained and escalated to senior staff where appropriate, ensuring health and safety and risk assessment processes are followed and accurate records maintained. Undertake the supervision of BCP Council staff or contractors, ensuring cover is maintained and routine operations are delivered to defined timescales and standards. Maintain the security of a defined site and its contents, including the operation of alarm systems, key-holding, inspection, health and safety assessments, and opening and closing tasks in accordance with well-defined processes and local requirements. Where required, take payments from the public/customers and accurately record and process the transaction, carry-out cashing-up and banking of monies in line with BCP financial procedures. Support the day‑to‑day operation of the café, ensuring high levels of customer service and presentation are maintained and that food safety and operational procedures are followed to ensure an efficient and effective service is delivered. The Ideal Candidate A Level qualifications or equivalent. Facilities management qualification such as BIFM level 3 or equivalent experience. Experience of working in facilities management ideally within a complex leisure operation. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures. Knowledge of IT packages including Word and Excel. Understanding of data protection and confidentiality procedures. Ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to reprioritise tasks according to need and urgency. Current First Aid At Work certificate. Flexibility to work between the BCP Leisure facilities, primarily based at Kings Park Leisure and Learning Centre (BH7 6JD), but may include Two Riversmeet Leisure Complex (BH23 1HW), Rossmore Leisure Centre (BH12 4HR), Poole Dolphin Leisure Centre (BH15 1TN) and Ashdown Leisure Centre (BH17 8RE). Hold a current RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ). If the successful candidate does not hold a current NPLQ, they may be required to achieve this qualification at a later date to support cross site working. Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check will be required. Position will include shift work in unsociable hours which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays to meet the operational needs of the service.
