Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: Blackburn with Darwen Setting: Secondary Alternative Provision Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm Contract Type: Long-term We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join a Secondary Alternative Provision in the Blackburn with Darwen area. This is a long-term opportunity to work within a supportive and specialised environment, helping to support students who require additional behavioural and emotional support. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs Implement strategies to manage and improve challenging behaviour Support teaching staff in delivering tailored learning activities Encourage positive social interaction and emotional well-being Play an active role in school life and be willing to get involved wherever needed Requirements: Proven experience working with pupils with SEMH and/or behavioural needs Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure A proactive and hands-on approach to supporting students Experience in an alternative provision or similar setting is highly desirable A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is committed, patient, and adaptable.
