Job Introduction
This is an exciting opportunity to join our West Kent branch as a Corporate Banking Manager. The successful candidate will have responsibility for managing a portfolio of business customers across the full suite of corporate products and services.
The successful candidate will enjoy full responsibility for all aspects of client relationships including preparation of credit applications, customer financial and risk analysis, balance sheet analysis, annual reviews, monitoring of management accounts, covenant compliance and profitability. They will develop the portfolio further to grow the business, through interaction with existing customers, as well as winning and onboarding new customers, with a passion for customer service and a strong focus on profitability and business development.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for the maintenance and development of a portfolio of corporate customers, building relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction through excellent service.
* Identify, meet and win prospective new customers/introducers by outlining available services and facilities.
* Complete credit applications and credit annual reviews in line with the Bank’s Credit Policy.
* Interpret financial information provided by customers, evaluate lending propositions, assess and formulate risk ratings, structure transactions and ensure proper customer selection.
* Develop and maintain a sound understanding of the local market and maintain relationships with professional firms and introducers.
* Attend suitable networking events and undertake focused business development activities.
* Identify and offer customers appropriate Handelsbanken products and services based on needs, communicating relevant features, benefits and risks.
* General administration, preparation/review of legal documentation for accounts (including KYC/AML reviews), lending facilities and securities.
Ideal Candidate
* Applicants with a proven track‑record in corporate relationship and portfolio management are welcomed. The successful candidate will understand the Bank’s Credit Policy and processes and will drive their own performance.
* The successful applicant has strong business development capabilities and a good knowledge of competitor products, industry and market trends.
* Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills, building professional relationships at all levels, and represents Handelsbanken effectively.
* Is a strong team player, flexible, proactive, conscientious, with a positive attitude, able to work under pressure and with high levels of accuracy.
* Has experience with lending documentation/security and AML/KYC procedures for business customers/transactions (advantageous).
* Has high computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel). Training will be provided for additional internal IT systems.
