Shift Manager - Cwmbran, Torfaen (Tor-faen)
The role of a Shift Manager is key in supporting the franchisee to ensure the store is run efficiently and profitably in accordance with the company policies and procedures. You will directly lead, coach, and inspire all team members to ensure they provide total customer satisfaction and a great product at all times whilst controlling costs and building sales. We’re looking for someone with proven management experience, ideally gained in the food franchise, restaurant, or hospitality sector. A Shift Manager role with GDK is rewarding and involves working flexible hours in a fun, team environment.
Restaurant Supervisor Responsibilities:
Responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the store, supporting the General Restaurant Manager, and developing food products and services as follows:
General Responsibilities
* Implementing the business performance plans set by the Restaurant Manager.
* Managing restaurant sales levels and profitability.
* Executing marketing activities, such as promotional events and discount schemes.
* Preparing reports at the end of shifts/weeks, including staff control, food control, wastage, and sales.
* Creating and executing plans for departmental sales, profit, and staff development.
Stock Control
* Ordering or requisitioning food and other supplies needed for efficient operation.
* Managing weekly/daily orders to maintain stock levels and timely special orders for functions.
* Coordinating stock deliveries with other Supervisors and Managers, maintaining accurate records.
* Inspecting supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to GDK standards.
Training
* Providing staff training and ongoing support; suitable training will be provided.
* Ensuring staff are well groomed and ready for work.
* Maintaining storage areas to be secure, neat, and clean, upholding hygiene and safety standards.
* Maintaining food standards and presentation according to GDK standards.
* Ensuring team provides excellent service and maintains GDK standards.
* Meeting and greeting customers when possible.
* Addressing customer queries or complaints effectively.
* Training staff on fire and safety procedures and proper equipment usage.
Other Responsibilities
* Identifying additional revenue opportunities.
* Possessing knowledge of ingredients and cooking methods as requested.
* Preparing duty rosters and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.
* Supporting other staff as needed.
* Minimizing wastage.
* Working well in a team, motivating others, and providing excellent customer service.
* Holding a basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
* Conducting daily staff briefings and ensuring punctuality.
* Monitoring and recording temperatures of freezers and chillers hourly.
* Arranging store maintenance when needed.
* Supporting and adhering to the company's equal opportunities policy.
* Ensuring safety in service to prevent accidents.
* Securing cash and credit card transactions.
* Performing any other reasonable duties within the scope of the job.
