Laurel Ward specialises in delivering high-quality care for patients with oncological and gastroenterology conditions. The team works alongside the MDT to provide individualised, compassionate, and high-standard care to our patients.
We are seeking to recruit dedicated nurses who can make a difference through their expertise and inspiring nursing skills.
You will be responsible for assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating nursing care, with opportunities to develop your skills, knowledge, and experience. Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills are essential. We encourage our new team members to actively participate in improving the unit and enhancing patient care.
Supported by the Practice Development team, you will receive a thorough induction, a tailored orientation programme, and a period of supernumerary practice. All newly qualified nurses will be offered our accredited preceptorship programme. Continuing professional development and post-registration education are actively supported through in-house study days and courses at local universities to help advance your nursing career.
The post holder may be required to work at any of the Trust’s sites according to service needs. Responsibilities must be carried out with regard to the Trust’s Equal Opportunities Policy. Duties may evolve over time and the job description may be reviewed accordingly.
All staff are expected to participate in the Trust’s Performance Appraisal Scheme and contribute to their own development, as well as that of staff they supervise.
Our People Are Our Greatest Asset. When staff feel supported and happy at work, this positivity benefits our patients. Our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) initiatives promote a culture of engagement, including four staff networks, a corporate EDI team, and various programmes and events to support the following aspirations:
* Enhancing representation at senior levels for staff with disabilities, from Black, Asian, and ethnic minority backgrounds, those identifying as LGBTQ+, and women, through improved recruitment and leadership development.
* Widening access and employability as an anchor institution.
* Improving the experience of staff with disabilities.
* Enhancing EDI literacy and confidence among staff through training and development.
* Integrating equality measures into mainstream practices.
