Mechanical Design Lead

Key Responsibilities
* Lead multidisciplinary teams delivering technical work packages in RF Directed Energy, including electronic and electrical architecture assessments.
* Analyse and decompose high-level requirements into lower-level subsystem requirements, ensuring alignment with customer needs.
* Provide both technical and managerial leadership, taking responsibility for allocated budgets and team direction.
* Identify key technical risk areas and oversee associated studies covering electromagnetic modelling, mechanical design, and component evaluation.
* Develop and implement testing and evaluation strategies for new concepts and technologies.
* Collaborate with subsystem design authorities to define and integrate architectural requirements and design approaches.
* Engage with a broad range of stakeholders to gather and define requirements for future system capabilities and programmes.
Qualifications & Experiences
* Degree-qualified with significant industry experience.
* Background in electro-mechanical and mechanical design.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build influential relationships.
* Ability to manage ambiguity and synthesise complex information into clear viewpoints.
* Familiarity with Weapon or Missile Systems and awareness of emerging or novel weapons technology.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and nurture collaborative teams.
* Strong commitment to achieving delivery milestones in terms of time, cost, and quality.
* Willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance.
Job Title: Mechanical Design Lead

Salary: Up to £67,000 (depending on experience)
Working: Hybrid, 3-4 days per week on-site
