Campden BRI's Sample Handling Team are the first point of contact for all samples into our business for our laboratory testing services. You will effectively manage the Sample Handling and Goods Inwards operationsthrough: m aximising staff motivation and ensuring the availability and efficientutilisation of resources/facilities, maintaining excellent service performancethrough allocation of daily tasksand d riving operational efficiency and safe working compliance with businesssystems.
What you’ll be doing
* Management,allocation and monitoring of the Sample Handling and Goods In activities. Thisincludes overseeing the delivery and dispatch of goods, registration, preparationand delivery of samples as per laboratory requirements
* Leadershipand management of staff including recruitment, development, motivation, andefficient utilisation
* Proactiveresolution of emerging issues and communication with relevant internalstakeholders
* Managementand organisation of sample storage/retention areas
* Liaisingwith clients on sample testing requirements and issues relating to samples asrequired
* Working closely with the Business Managers on implementationof improved processes/workflows through the Sample Handling and Goods Inwards area
* Responsiblefor ensuring smooth and effective collaboration between Goods In and SampleHandling
* Useof relevant business systems including LIMS, CRM and Focal Point for thepurposes of Goods In, Sample Receipt, Preparation and Query resolution
* Managing thedelivery of samples to and liaising with sub-contractors, including monitoringcharges, raising PO’s and organising couriers
* Reviewing,updating and creating relevant procedures and working instructions for SampleHandling and Goods In
* Participationin regular audits such as UKAS 17025 and BSI 9001
What we’re looking for
* Experience in client facing roles, ideally withinlogistics, laboratory sample handling operations
* Experienceof laboratory information management systems (e.g. Labware LIMS) and CRMsystems
* Practicallyminded and able to identify solutions under pressure
* Competence in team leadership and management ofstaff and resourcing
* Excellentcomputer literacy including use of standard Microsoft apps (Teams, PowerPoint,Excel, Word and Teams) and ability to quickly upskill on specific LaboratoryInformation Systems Software
* Welldeveloped written and verbal communication skills
* Understandingof ISO17025 requirements beneficial
* Experienceof manual handling and physical tasks
* Educatedto A’levels, including a Science subject, is desirable, plus 3 years ofdemonstrable experience in multiple skill areas in a Science or Administrationposition.
* Abilityto work in a fast-paced, changing environment responding to internal andexternal demands
