GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Sheffield, S9. As an SEMH TA, you will play a key role in supporting students with emotional and behavioural challenges, helping them to engage positively with their learning and reach their academic goals. Responsibilities as an SEMH Teaching Assistant: Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs. Implement behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation techniques. Build strong, trusting relationships with students to promote engagement and confidence. Support teachers in creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment. Work collaboratively with parents, staff, and external agencies to ensure students receive the right level of support. Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant: Experience working with students with SEMH needs is highly desirable. Excellent interpersonal and de-escalation skills. Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude when supporting students. A valid, enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
