Job Description
As a Young Person’s Wellbeing Practitioner, you will build trusting relationships with a diverse range of young people to help them discuss their problems. You will be trained to apply therapeutic techniques from various backgrounds to meet their needs. You will identify and refer young people with complex mental health needs to appropriate agencies and support their access to services. You will ensure collaboration among service providers for integrated support, involving community outreach and partnerships.
The role requires flexibility, adaptability, and involvement across different service areas, including:
* Supporting delivery and youth work during regular hours at the social hub.
* One-to-one support for young people.
* Community outreach and orientation work.
Working locations include:
* The Hive premises.
* Outreach and community sites across Camden.
* Other local sites and possibly homes of young people.
Qualifications
We seek candidates with:
* An NVQ Level 2 or higher related to working with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, or a relevant degree (social studies, psychology, youth work, nursing, social work, etc.).
* Experience working with young people in youth or support settings.
* Experience providing individual support.
* Knowledge of issues affecting young people and best practices in emotional wellbeing and mental health for ages 16-25.
* Understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and risks involved in supporting vulnerable youth.
