Job Title: Legal Support Assistant

Salary: £26,200 per annum to start, with increases after probation and at 12 months

We are currently recruiting for a Legal Support Assistant to join a highly regarded Personal Injury team in Telford. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with a clear pathway for salary progression and professional development.
The Role
This is a supervised, fee-earning support role contributing directly to the performance of the department. The successful candidate will assist Fee Earners and Partners with legal and administrative tasks, delivering approximately three chargeable hours per day. You will help manage client files, prepare legal documents, handle enquiries, and support ongoing casework under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with file management, document preparation, and client correspondence
Provide administrative support including diary management, arranging meetings and maintaining records
Liaise with clients, contacts and other departments in a professional and timely manner
Track and record time spent on chargeable work to meet performance targets
Prepare and maintain legal bundles and assist with document indexing
Attend client meetings to take notes and follow up on action points
Ensure all work complies with firm procedures and legal standards
About You
Essential:
5 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including English and Maths
Experience in a similar legal support or high-level administrative role
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Able to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
Professional, proactive, and client-focused
Desirable:
3 A Levels or equivalent
Law or Business degree, or CILEX qualification
Previous use of time recording or practice management systems
Knowledge of GDPR and general legal principles
