SCL/CDD Services are looking to recruit a skilled, hardworking, flexible, enthusiastic, customer-focused individual to join our team. We are currently seeking a Specialist Clinical Engineer to join the Clinical Engineering team, providing effective & efficient medical device repair and maintenance services.
The successful candidate will play a senior, integral role within the team, ensuring that critical care medical devices are effectively and safely maintained across the Trust.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Multitasking and prioritising own heavy workloads.
2. Organising servicing of Anaesthetic and Ventilatory equipment within area of special expertise.
3. Controlling and implementing backlog maintenance projects/blocks of work to ensure efficient and effective completion, often involving multi-disciplined teams.
4. Authorising the generation of orders, including external repairs, spare parts, and equipment accessories.
5. Carrying out servicing, repair, and calibration of specialist equipment, e.g., Anaesthetic and Ventilatory Equipment, Life Support Systems, occasionally in stressful situations with equipment patient connected.
The successful candidate will demonstrate suitable experience in the field, with broad manufacturer training and the ability to apply knowledge effectively. Good communication and organisational skills are essential to prioritise workload. An in-depth understanding of critical care equipment maintenance and repair, along with adaptability to changing work demands, is required. A working understanding of ISO quality systems and the MIA process is desirable.
SCL is a wholly owned subsidiary of County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust (CDDFT), set up to deliver a range of non-clinical services. The company operates as a separate legal entity from CDDFT.
