The Role
We’re supporting our client in their search for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join either their London or Cambridge office. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a senior position within a highly respected consultancy, where you’ll play a key role in delivering cost management services across a diverse portfolio of projects.
The role involves pre- and post-contract cost management responsibilities, from feasibility estimates through to final accounts, as well as client reporting, tender analysis, and effective variation control. You’ll also be a trusted advisor, providing clear, concise commercial advice directly to clients and working closely with fellow consultants and contractors.
Hybrid working is available (up to 2 days per week), though regular office presence is encouraged to support collaboration, development, and career progression.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Undertaking benchmarking and feasibility estimates.
* Preparing detailed budget estimates, cost plans, and measured quantities for tender documents.
* Drafting tender documents, preliminaries, and conditions of contract.
* Conducting tender evaluations and compiling tender reports.
* Managing interim valuations, cost reports, and final accounts, including contractor claims.
* Delivering effective cost management services across the full project lifecycle.
* Preparing clear written reports and advice for clients.
* Attending client, contractor, and consultant meetings.

What You’ll Bring
* MRICS (or equivalent qualification).
* Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline.
* Strong track record of cost management across a range of projects.
* Excellent technical and numerical skills, with good IT literacy (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
* High levels of attention to detail and diligence.
* Ability to negotiate effectively and build strong contractor relationships.
* Confident communicator, both written and verbal, with excellent client-facing skills.
* Proactive, organised, and able to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
* Collaborative approach with the ability to mentor junior colleagues.
