Clinical Lead Dietitian for Oncology

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Lead Dietitian for our oncology dietetic team. The role involves working with head and neck cancer patients to improve and develop the dietetic service in an inpatient, outpatient, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and palliative care setting, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing nutritional support to a range of patients across settings.
* Developing the post through audit, projects and teaching.
* Delivering placements for A, B and C students and supporting the department’s training and apprenticeship programmes.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Training
* HCPC registration
* Facilitator of learning course
* Evidence of masters module
* Post‑registration study in oncology
* Counselling or motivational interviewing
* Leadership training
* Member of a specialist group (e.g., BDA Oncology Specialist group)
Experience
* Working as part of an MDT
* Enteral feeding with inpatients and outpatients
* Working with head and neck cancer patients
* Supporting/managing staff
* Service development
* Leadership or coaching training
Knowledge
* Higher knowledge of oncological treatment
* Knowledge of national issues and trends in oncology treatments
* Clinical effectiveness within an organisation
* Leading on audits
* Home enteral feeding systems
