Due to growth of our state-of-the-art Cell-Based Screening and Functional Genomic Screening Platforms, we have an exciting opportunity for a Scientist 1 to join our Preclinical Services team. As a Scientist 1 in the Preclinical department, you will be responsible for executing cell and molecular biology, and automation workflows generate data for high-throughput compound screens and CRISPR-Cas9 functional genomic screens for fee-paying commercial clients. Your daily activities will directly align to and benefit Revvity's goals and values.

This is a lab-based role and involves some repetitive tasks. Candidates should be organised, self-motivated, able to work to tight timelines and be comfortable working under pressure in an environment with shifting priorities.

• Following training, independently execute detailed tasks according to SOPs, recording any deviations as necessary.

• Accurately process, record, and report all data generated in a precise and organized manner

• Contribute to continuous improvement of screening processes and workflows to maximise effectiveness and reduce costs.

• Communicate data and information clearly to your colleagues.

• Use resources effectively, holding yourself and others accountable for high standards.

You will also be required to work collaboratively and be an effective team member within our overall Cell-based Services Department, supporting your own and other groups, as appropriate

About You

• Degree in a Biological Discipline covering mammalian cell biology

• Minimum one year of full-time laboratory experience (industry experience preferred)

• Strong organizational and communication skills with demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and meet project deadlines.

• Excellent aseptic technique and hands-on experience of mammalian cell culture techniques, for example cell line passaging, cell revivals and banking etc.

• A strong interest in using laboratory automation and LIMs to produce high quality products

• Self-aware with a diligent nature, good attention to detail and good record keeping skills

Desirable skills:

• Practical experience with liquid handling robotic equipment and LIMS (although full training will be provided)

• Technical knowledge of gene editing and gene modulation technologies.

• Knowledge and practical experience of molecular biology techniques such as DNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and basic interpretation of sequencing data.

• Experience of high throughput screening and knowledge of combination screening, including analysing and interpreting compound dose response experiments.

• An understanding of Quality Management Systems

• An interest in Lean methodologies (e.g. 5S, 8-wastes, Kaizen etc)

• Experience working in an Industrial / CRO setting.

If you're enthusiastic about scientific delivery, bring a positive 'can-do' attitude, and thrive in collaborative team environments supporting drug discovery, we'd love to hear from you
