Medical Secretary - Band 4

Learning Disabilities & Autism Directorate, Band 4 part‑time: 36 hours/week Monday – Friday. Must commit to five days, Mon‑Fri.
Location: Windmill Road, Coventry CV6 7AT (LD & A Community Team)
You will provide efficient and comprehensive administrative support to consultants and managers within the Community Learning Disabilities Service. You will also manage consultants’ caseload and lead band 2 and 3 team members.
Provide comprehensive secretarial service to community consultants, psychiatrists and clinical teams.
Main duties
Act as the first point of contact responding to internal and external enquiries. Work unsupervised on a day‑to‑day basis, exercising judgement and initiative. Manage diary, organise workloads and meet deadlines. Supervise staff, carry out appraisals and sickness meetings.

Experience supervising staff is desirable, including carrying out appraisals and sickness meetings. Knowledge of Microsoft Office systems is essential; training will be provided for in‑house systems such as Carenotes and Tracking.
Base: Windmill Point, Coventry; may require hot‑desking or home‑working rota. Home Wi‑Fi network is required.
Due to the service being spread over a number of sites across Coventry and Warwickshire, you may need to travel to support delivery.
Qualifications
* Good General Education (e.g. GCSE English and Maths A‑C)
* QCF Business Administration Level 3
Experience
* Competent working with Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access)
* Experience working in a busy office / customer‑care environment
* Experience working in healthcare
* Experience in a supervisory role and delegating work
* Medical secretarial experience
