Davenport House Surgery is looking for a Salaried GP to join our friendly and forward-thinking team, serving 12,900 patients. Our team includes 3 partners, 3 salaried GPs, 1 ANP, Physician Associate, Health & Wellbeing Coaches, Physiotherapists, Pharmacists, Mental Health Support Worker, FCP, and Social Prescribing Link Worker. We have an excellent nursing team managing all LTCs and a skilled admin team led by our practice manager, minimizing non-clinical workload. We offer mentor support, regular inhouse meetings, access to training, and links into PCN. We are continually looking for ways to improve patient care, systems, and work-life balance.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will undertake a variety of practice duties, including face-to-face consultations, telephone consultations, and rare home/care home visits. Responsibilities include actioning blood tests, managing tasks, checking and signing EPS repeat prescriptions and PA scripts, and handling queries. The role involves making professional, autonomous decisions regarding presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred by other healthcare workers, assessing healthcare needs, developing care plans for long-term conditions, providing counseling and health education, and prescribing in accordance with the practice formulary and ICB guidelines. The post also involves supporting and supervising Physician Associates and GP registrars, managing ongoing palliative and elderly care caseloads, and ensuring the smooth running of the practice.
