Offer description

Core Duties – but not exhaustive to:

* Leading by example by driving the efficiency and quality of the process and material, whilst maintaining high levels of Health & Safety.
* Oversee site safety for staff and contractors with the support of the Health and Safety Manager, ensuring that stock is within safe limits and all processes are completed safely.
* Manage day to day stock requirements of a bespoke sorting facility ensuring that daily targets are met – This will be ensuring infeed stock is enough to feed the plant on a daily basis and the outbound area is kept clear to ensure the plant can continue processing, as well as forecasting outbound loads based on data provided.
* Liaise with the Production Manager, Planning Team & Senior Management with regards to infeed requirement and what outfeed has been produced to enable a streamlined planning process.
* Be able to plan ahead with changing business demands within a fast-paced processing facility.
* Be able to follow up instructions that have been given to staff to ensure that work has been carried out to our required standards in line with processes/ procedures.
* Report issues regarding mobile plant to maintenance team.
* As Yard & Stock Control Manager it is your responsibility to ensure all areas regarding stock/ yard control are proactive and thinking ahead.
* Manage the day-to-day stock and weighbridge operation and coordinate teams effectively, liaising with departments or suppliers – in the event of a major problem that could potentially affect production, escalate to the Site Operations Manager/ Maintenance Manager.
* Liaise with HR/ Site Ops Manager on staffing requirements to ensure targets are met, manage staff numbers and training, giving strength and flexibility in the relevant areas.
* Implement, maintain & improve strong standards.
* Drive continuous improvement in all areas.
* General management of weighbridge staff & drivers as well as continuous drive to ensure standards are met.
* Ensure that all safe systems of work are followed and completed with the guidance of the Health & Safety Manager.
* Ensure all necessary work equipment & PPE is provided and adequate for purpose and used correctly.
* To ensure that the Production Manager has relevant information for the handover report detailing block of shifts.
* Take full responsibility regarding stock control for the entire site, ensuring that all shifts have the relevant information.
* Manage the weighbridge operations alongside the Weighbridge Supervisor to maintain compliance in all aspects.
* Ensure all staff are multi-skilled and using their own initiative to see each days tasks through to successful completion.

Skills Required

* Proven experience in managing stock, people and logistics.
* Be able to delegate duties effectively to ensure a streamlined and efficient process.
* Experience in a fast-paced environment with proven evidence.
* Be able to react and resolve problems quickly in the absence of senior management but in line with company policy.
* Escalation skills.
* The ability to take the initiative and make decisions in high pressure situations.
* Have excellent communication skills with all departments including senior management (Escalation).
* Strong motivational skills are required with a focus on sense of urgency.
* Proven strong leadership skills.
* Attention to detail when compiling data for reports, reviewing documents, processes and reviewing completed paperwork/ tasks from drivers, weighbridge etc.
* Flexible towards hours and full commitment to the role.
* Weighbridge experience an advantage.
* FLT licence an advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £37,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
