About Us
Firefly Pixels is an innovative and dynamic photography venture, proudly under the Driftwood Dreams Ltd brand. We break the walls of the traditional studio by delivering a full professional photographic experience directly to our clients' locations and corporate events across England. Our mission is to make exceptional photography accessible, flexible, and creatively unbounded.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Photographic Studio Manager to be the operational heart of our mobile studio. This role is central to ensuring our on-location shoots run seamlessly, from initial client booking to the final pack-down. You will be the key connector between our clients, photographers, and equipment, balancing creative needs with logistical excellence.
This is a foundational role in a growing company, offering the unique opportunity to shape our operations and culture from the ground up. Following a successful 3-month probationary period, this position is designed to transition into a full-time role as our business expands.
Key Responsibilities
* Operational Management: Oversee the end-to-end logistics of our mobile studio, including equipment preparation, transportation, setup, and breakdown at various locations.
* Resource & Scheduling: Manage the studio diary, allocating photographer resources, and planning capacity to ensure efficient coverage of all bookings and events.
* Client Liaison: Act as a central point of contact for client enquiries, booking confirmations, and shoot-day coordination, ensuring a professional and smooth experience.
* Vendor & Inventory Management: Maintain and organise all studio equipment, manage inventory levels, and liaise with vendors for rentals, purchases, and repairs.
* Administrative Support: Drive key administrative processes including client invoicing, contract management, and project tracking to support business operations.
* Culture & Standards: Foster a collaborative, efficient, and positive environment for photographers and clients, upholding the high-quality standards of the Firefly Pixels brand.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a coordination, operations, or management role. (A bachelor's degree is a bonus, but we value practical skills and a can-do attitude most highly).
* A genuine passion for photography and the creative process; previous experience in a creative environment is a strong advantage.
* Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills, with a knack for managing multiple moving parts in a fast-paced setting.
* High emotional intelligence with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members, and vendors.
* A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across England is essential.
* A proactive, hands-on approach, ready to help build and refine processes in a startup environment.
Tools & Technology
* Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar) is essential.
* Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Trello, Asana), CRM systems, or Adobe Creative Suite is beneficial but not essential.
What We Offer
* Path to Growth: A part-time role (20 hours/week) with a clearly defined path to a full-time position after a successful 3-month probation.
* Competitive Pay: An hourly rate of £18.97.
* Shape a Brand: Play a pivotal role in building an innovative mobile photography service from its early stages.
* Creative Environment: Immerse yourself in a supportive and collaborative creative venture.
* Practical Benefits: Travel expenses covered. Based from our Reading office with flexible remote working for administrative tasks.
