Description
The Quality Control (QC) team requires an undergraduate studying towards a Scientific degree, to undertake an 11-month Industrial Placement starting in September 2026.
The Quality Technician (Industrial Placement) will support the ongoing compliance of the CGT Catapult Manufacturing Innovation Centre (MIC) GMP facility, and equipment used within the QC labs and Cleanroom modules. The Quality Technician (Industrial Placement) will also proactively engage in ensuring that the CGT Catapult MIC meets the standards and expectations of key stakeholders; the regulatory authorities, existing/potential Collaborators and internal department, supporting the monitoring of Cleanroom modules and the maintaining of QC compliance for audit readiness. There may be a requirement for some ad hoc travel to support the personal development of the role holder.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform GMP laboratory testing and analysis, including viable environmental monitoring, ensuring accurate result generation, timely reporting, and escalation of atypical or OOS/OOT results in accordance with procedures
* Ensure QC laboratory services are maintained in a state of GMP compliance, supporting day-to-day laboratory operations, documentation control, and inspection readiness
* Own assigned QC equipment, including routine operation, maintenance coordination, troubleshooting, and supporting the full validation lifecycle (IQ/OQ/PQ), change control, and periodic review
* Administer and review quality documentation and records, including Non-Conformances, Change Controls, Deviations, and archive requests, ensuring data integrity, completeness, and timely progression
* Collate, trend, and report Quality Management System metrics, contributing to data analysis and generation of reports to support management review and monitoring of site performance
* Identify, plan, and deliver a continuous improvement project, focused on improving the quality, efficiency, effectiveness, and/or cost of QC or quality processes, in alignment with site and organisational objectives
* Actively contribute to a positive quality culture, demonstrating ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement mindset while supporting cross-functional collaboration

Education and Qualifications:
* Successful completion of the first year of a bachelor's degree course in a Life Sciences subject
