Job Description
CNC Millers opportunity in this rapidly expanding sub contract aerospace precision engineering company.You'll be an experienced CNC Miller looking for a technically challenging, precision aerospace environment where you can fully utilise your Heidenhain 5-axis capability and offline programming experience (ideally with Hypermill). You'll want to work on complex components to tight tolerances, in a supportive team that values quality, clear processes, and continued development.Key responsibilities:Operate and set up 5-axis vertical machining centres with Heidenhain controlsCreate and edit offline programs using Hypermill and validate toolpathsSet and verify offsets, tool lengths and work offsets accuratelyMachine complex aerospace parts to drawing and specificationPerform basic inspection using hand tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators) and follow first-off and in-process inspection routinesInterpret engineering drawings, CAD/CAM outputs and inspection instructionsMaintain machine housekeeping, tooling inventory and accurate production documentationWork to aerospace quality standards and adhere to health & safety proceduresRequired skills and experience:Proven experience operating Heidenhain CNC controlsExperience programming offline with Hypermill (HyperMILL) on 5-axis machinesStrong understanding of offsets, tool setting and machine set-upsExperience producing complex aerospace componentsCompetent in basic inspection techniques and interpreting measurement resultsAbility to read engineering drawings and follow manufacturing instructionsAttention to detail, problem-solving skills and a commitment to qualityDesirable:Experience with aerospace manufacturing standards and documentationFamiliarity with CAD/CAM workflows and post-processing for HeidenhainPrevious experience in a high-mix, low-volume production environmentThis is a permanent job with a starting salary dependant on experience.
