Job Opportunity: Salaried GP
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Salaried GP to work across Marywell Practice and the Integrated Drug Service following a redesign of Marywell Practice, which has been the Homeless Practice within Aberdeen City for over 20 years. Managed by NHS Grampian / Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership (ACHSCP), this is a 2c Practice.
Marywell Practice caters to homeless individuals and those with multiple complex needs, with a patient list size of around 200. Some patients have substance/alcohol addictions and/or mental health conditions. Experience and interest in supporting patients with complex needs would be advantageous.
The role involves working closely with the Integrated Drug Service at Timmermarket to integrate services for a seamless, collaborative approach to healthcare for vulnerable adults, including support for addiction management. This aligns with Scottish Government Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Standards, aiming to reduce drug-related deaths by providing quicker access to treatment and reducing barriers.
We seek a motivated, enthusiastic, and dedicated GP to deliver high-quality, person-centred care in a warm and understanding environment. Experience with homeless patients and those with complex needs, along with qualifications in RCGP training on drug misuse treatment (preferably Certificate in the Management of Drug Misuse Part 1), would be beneficial.
The role includes supporting the Direct Access Clinic at Timmermarket for rapid drug treatment access and ongoing support, requiring collaboration across both services.
The practice operates under the GMS contract, aligned with the Strategic Plan for Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership, the National Health and Wellbeing Outcomes, and other professional standards to ensure safe, effective, and efficient service delivery.
Applicants must have full GMC registration and a valid licence to practice prior to starting.
