Overview
Job Description: The quality inspector shall travel to various supplier facilities to perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and/or sub-assemblies. Parts will be inspected according to engineering drawings, customer purchase orders, industry standards, and specifications. The inspector will be required to report inspection accept/reject information directly to the customer via a web application.
Requirements: Candidates must have practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on complex machined parts, assemblies, and/or sub-assemblies. Inspections should be performed according to engineering requirements specified by ANSI Y14.5 – Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or an equivalent standard. Candidates must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and purchase orders (POs). Experience with various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers, is required. Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with the AS9102 standard and relevant knowledge is necessary. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience performing inspections in aerospace or military/defense manufacturing, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Candidates should be computer savvy and own a laptop for this assignment. The position is as an independent contractor (1099).
