Job Title: Senior IT Service Manager
We are seeking a Senior IT Service Manager to join our digital payments team as part of our transformation of DWP through technology. You will play a key role in implementing and developing our service management strategy across platforms and products that facilitate payments to millions of people.
Our DWP Digital teams utilize innovative ideas and cutting-edge technology to build and maintain digital solutions used daily by nearly every person in the UK, especially at critical moments in their lives. DWP is the UK's largest government department, helping people into work and managing payments exceeding £195 billion annually to support and empower millions.
This is a Live Service role. Your responsibilities include ensuring the support strategy for Service Management is effectively implemented across various platforms, channels, or a portfolio of products/services, maintaining quality, availability, performance, and process maturity aligned with business outcomes. You will collaborate with key stakeholders to support new and modified products/services into live environments, ensuring high standards of service delivery throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify, understand, and implement payment contingencies as necessary.
* Manage enterprise-level digital products and critical services in a live environment.
* Apply knowledge of the service lifecycle for technologies and solutions in a large-scale IT environment.
* Utilize Service Management Frameworks such as ITIL effectively.
* Understand service management within the UK payments landscape, including BACS and Faster Payment systems.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Proven experience in managing enterprise digital products and critical services.
* Strong knowledge of service lifecycle management in large IT environments.
* Experience with ITIL or similar service management frameworks.
* Understanding of UK payment systems, including BACS and Faster Payments.
