Lab Technician – Lincoln, NE
This is full-time, non-exempt position.
Job Summary
Perform laboratory analysis on in-process and finished product samples to determine conformance to the specifications of quality and purity.
Essential Job Functions
1. Follow all safety and environmental rules and regulations applicable to position
2. Adhere to and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP requirements
3. Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety, food safety, environmental, GMP rules, regulations and policies
4. Perform all required lab tests adhering to documented laboratory procedures
5. Physical testing of production samples
6. Daily verification of lab instruments
7. Recording, interpreting, and entering test results using a computerized data system
8. Maintain samples of tested product in order to confirm test results, when necessary
9. Maintains adequate supplies used for testing procedures and notifies the supervisor of the need to re-order such supplies
10. Continually compares test results with standards, as required, to insure that all products are within specification
11. Handle various chemicals in different containers in the manner outlined in the Safety Data Sheet provided by the manufacturer
Job Qualifications
12. Must be able to read/write/speak English, must be able to do basic arithmetic
13. Must be able to write clearly
14. Must be able to communicate with other employees in a clear and professional manner
15. Must be able to work on multiple tasks and remain organized
16. Must be able to work on a team
17. Must have a willingness to learn
18. Exhibit regular and prompt attendance
19. Participates actively in training
20. Reports to work in a condition to be able to perform all duties
21. Practices proper personal hygiene
22. High School Diploma or GED required, Associates in an applied science preferred
23. Preferred analytical laboratory experience
24. Position requires basic computer operation skills, “point and click” programs, MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Outlook, OneNote), and different software programs for the instruments.
25. Understands that accidents are preventable and that safety is everyone’s responsibility
26. Commitment to ADM’s goal of achieving a zero injury culture; understand and follow company safety procedures
27. Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time while performing job duties.
28. Must be capable of working from heights, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, and able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly (ex. Moving a gas cylinder)
29. Must be able to handle dangerous chemicals in a safe manner
30. Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays
