Job Summary
The ideal candidate will be acting as an assistant and primary support to our Associate Solicitor and, where required, other members of the Team in managing and progressing a caseload within the Practice, dealing with all matters of private Family Law.
Primary Responsibilities
· File administration such as opening files and preparing client care documentation
· Liaising with clients and taking notes of meetings
· Creating and updating court bundles and other court documents
· Assisting with the drafting of applications to court
· Assisting with Briefing Counsel and instructing experts
· Assisting with the drafting of statements
· Assisting at court by taking an attendance note
· Assisting and arranging client appointments
· Preparing legal documents (e.g. Divorce Applications, Financial Statements, D81etc.)
· Responsible for own administration and paperwork using Leap Case Management software and time recording
· Undertaking legal research
· Drafting legal correspondence
· Communicating with clients/other parties and the court/other relevant institutions where appropriate via telephone including the preparation of attendance notes
· Copy typing documents
· Uploading documents and progressing cases via the HMCTS Portal
· Diarising court deadlines and key dates
Business Development opportunities
· Attending training courses
· Supporting the Practice in marketing activity and occasional attendance at some networking events
Financial Tasks
· Preparing bills using Leap software
· Completing Court documents on asset schedules on both word and excel
Customer Service
· Responsible for delivering the highest standards of customer/client service at all times
· Taking personal responsibility for clients and any follow up to ensure their complete satisfaction

Qualifications
* Prior experience as a legal secretary or paralegal
* Experience in Family Law
