About The Role
EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high‑speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. We’re looking to recruit a Section Engineer with Earthworks and/or drainage experience, to join our team based in the Calvert area.
You will be required to report to the Sub Agent and supervise the site engineering team from construction to close‑out. You will assist with temporary works design schemes, liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant and materials, ensuring works are carried out to required standards, programme and budget. You will manage the site setting‑out team, develop Site Engineers, identify and resolve technical problems on site, and monitor subcontractors to meet contractual requirements. You will also assist with programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans, and contribute to financial forecasting.
About You
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent and working towards institute membership (ICE)
* Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills
* Experience in Earthworks and/or drainage is essential for this role
* Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
* CSCS card (White, White‑Yellow, Red‑Experienced, Black‑Manager or Gold‑Supervisor)
* SSSTS/SMSTS
