Overview
Our client, a prominent player in the Highways sector, is currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Cambridge. This role offers an excellent chance to work on diverse and exciting projects, particularly schemes across Environmental and Heavy Civils.
Responsibilities
* Monitor contract costs against budgets
* Identify potential risks and evaluate options for control
* Prepare estimates
* Procure sub-contractors and prepare subcontract documents
* Assess and certify interim and final payments to subcontractors
* Prepare and agree main contract variations
* Assist in the preparation of documents for dispute resolutions (adjudications, arbitrations, etc.)
* Ensure all work complies with quality, safety, and environmental policies and company procedures
Requirements
* Ambitious individual with excellent communication skills and a flexible approach
* Innovative problem-solving abilities and capacity to negotiate across various levels of the construction environment
* Strong numeracy and IT skills to meet the financial and mathematical demands of the role
* Experience working on civil engineering schemes, including Flood Protection, with a main contractor
* Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor working with the NEC form of contract
