Our Residential Support Workers create a safe and supportive environment our young person to grow and develop. You will ensure their wellbeing is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance, and advocacy. It is key that they stay safe and healthy and can reach their full potential. About the service This service operates under a supported living model, where care and support are provided to individual living in their own tenancy. The service is designed to promote independence, choice, and control for a young adult with autism, learning disabilities,whose complex needs may be expressed through behaviour that requires specialist support The individual is supported by the service has their own home, where they hold a tenancy agreement. Action for Children provides tailored support package based on individual needs and preferences, delivered by trained staff who are based on-site to provide the level of support required. The focus of the service is to enable individual to live as independently as possible while receiving the care and support they need to stay safe, healthy, and engaged in their community. Support may include help with daily living tasks, personal care, communication, emotional well-being, and accessing education, employment, or social opportunities. Although the service is not registered for the accommodation itself, it is registered with the CQC for the regulated activity of personal care, which is delivered in the person's own home. How you'll help to create brighter futures • Fostering independence by teaching essential life skills • Implementing positive behaviour support strategies proactively deescalating situations and providing a safe and supportive environment. • Promote social interaction help build positive relationships inside an outside the residential setting. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records • Care planning management, including assessing, reviewing and managing risk • Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports • Attendance at professional meetings including reviews, court work etc. Let's talk about you. Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge? We are looking for someone with a 'can do' attitude to join our team. Ideally you will have: • Demonstrable experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust • Application of a range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and their families • Demonstrate a solution focused approach to address problems, individually and in a team setting • Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role • Possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) or if you do not possess this you must be prepared to complete this within 2 years of commencing employment with us, full support will be provided.
