This role involves overseeing the design and development of innovative technical solutions that meet customer requirements and business needs throughout all phases of the product lifecycle, including requirements capture, system specification, modelling, design, integration, validation, and qualification.

General Duties
The Systems Design Authority provides technical oversight across the product lifecycle, collaborating with Sales, Project Management, Engineering, and Support teams. Responsibilities include interpreting customer requirements, defining system solutions, planning development and testing, leading lifecycle reviews, and ensuring successful customer acceptance and handover. Key outputs include:
* Assessing customer requirements against product specifications
* Developing system specifications and architecture
* Defining internal and external interfaces
* Formulating test and acceptance strategies
* Defining engineering work packages and subcontractor specifications
* Supporting risk management in collaboration with project teams
* Leading factory, harbour, and sea acceptance testing activities
Responsibilities and Competencies
The SDA's responsibilities include ensuring quality of technical outputs, following engineering processes, and representing the company's products externally. The role requires:
* Previous experience in a technical or engineering role, with a desire to develop or experience in delivering equipment into service
* Strong systems thinking skills
* Tenacity and determination to deliver results
* Proven competence in Systems Engineering and lifecycle management
* Domain knowledge in areas such as Systems Engineering, Sonar, Underwater Acoustics, Maritime Security, Marine Technology, Mine Warfare, Anti-submarine Warfare, or Command and Control Systems
* Good organizational, leadership, and communication skills
