Salaried GP Maternity Cover 4-6 sessions. 12 month fixed term to cover maternity leave.
The Pembroke Medical Group is part of the Baywide PCN. We are looking for a salaried GP to join our welcoming, hardworking, and forward-thinking team for a one-year fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.
Salary: £11,075 per session. Portfolio Working: Blocked Admin Time: 6 weeks holiday: 1 week study leave: Indemnity (the extra costs on top of crown is fully paid by the practice). Flexibility - we have extra contracts to fit around childcare and can be flexible with the number of sessions worked.

Main duties of the job
Operating from our main site in Paignton and our branch site in Torquay, we care for upwards of 26,000 patients in an organised and strong team environment. Our 22 GPs are supported by ANPs, Pharmacists, Paramedics and ARRS staff including Pharmacy Technicians, and Social Prescribers, as well as large nursing, reception, and admin teams. We work well within the local community, offering portfolio working including taking part within the Integrated care team, and any new roles that may be on the horizon. We welcome trainees and newly qualified GPs. We have a duty doctor on hand each day with no booked patients to help with queries. Using Emis Web we run a hybrid system involving an acute on-the-day triage team and a planned pre-booked team every day.

Pembroke Medical Group is a large GP practice with over 26,000 patients based in Paignton and Torquay in South Devon. We have 2 sites, our main site is in Preston, Paignton and we have a smaller site in the harborside in Torquay. We are a training practice for medical students and trainee GPs, student nurses and newly qualified pharmacists. We embrace digital solutions to improve patient experience.

Job Description
Job responsibilities
The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
Clinical Responsibilities: Availability for surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, home visits, signing repeat prescriptions, dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion. Make professional, autonomous decisions. Assess health care needs with undifferentiated problems. Screen disease risk factors. Record clear notes. Collect data for audit. Issue prescriptions. Prescribe in line with formulary. Undertake normal duties of GP in primary care.
Other Responsibilities Within The Organisation: Awareness of and compliance with practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing.
Person Specification
Qualifications - Essential: Qualified GP, MRCGP, VT Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP, General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training).
Experience - Essential: Experience in primary care, CPD, QOF and clinical audit, minimum two years as a salaried GP, understanding of GMS contract.
Desirable: Medicines management, CCG initiatives.
Eligibility - Essential: Full GMC Registration, National Performers List registration, appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU), eligibility to practice in the UK independently.
Skills - Essential: Excellent communication, IT skills, clear telephone manner, competent in Office/Outlook, time management, teamwork and autonomy, interpersonal, problem solving, following clinical policy.
Desirable: EMIS Web & Docman 10.
