The role
The Housing Officer will include:
1. Effective management of anti-social behaviour cases
2. Liaising with colleagues in Property Services and Lettings to ensure the effective allocation of void properties
3. Managing tenant expectations regarding repairs and escalating any property maintenance issues affecting tenant welfare via appropriate channels
4. Managing complaints about service delivery
5. Working with colleagues in other service areas to help the organisation meet its compliance obligations (fire safety, water hygiene, gas safety, and data protection)
6. Delivering general advice on all aspects of tenancy to enable sustainability
7. Working closely with administrative colleagues to complete a range of tenancy management processes
Skills and experiences
* Proven experience of undertaking a similar role
* Prior experience of delivering high-quality tenancy services
* Excellent skills in analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing solutions
* Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external customers
* Excellent customer service and negotiating skills
* An understanding of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
* Working knowledge of relevant regulations and good practice
* Regular travel will be a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving license and access to a vehicle is essential
