Our client was founded in the 1940s, has grown to over 280 employees across 11 UK offices, and has won awards for Architect Employer of the Year. They are established as leaders in planning advice, heritage consultancy, building surveying, conservation, and contemporary architecture.
They work with public bodies, charities, trusts, private companies, contractors, developers, and individuals, involved in restoring and developing some of the UK’s most loved buildings and places. Their projects include sensitive restorations, repairs, and modern designs in historic contexts across various sectors such as cultural, master planning, education, ecclesiastical, public, hospitality, and residential.
Due to continued success in the Kent region, they are seeking a Senior Architect to work on historic projects.
Role & Responsibilities
1. Oversee projects from initial concept to completion, guiding teams through RIBA stages.
2. Produce design and planning packages.
3. Collaborate with stakeholders, clients, consultants, and team members to meet project objectives within deadlines and budgets, using clear communication.
4. Manage a design team of three people.
5. Report to the office studio lead and regional partner.
Required Skills & Experience
* Part III qualified with at least 10 years PQE and UK experience.
* Excellent design and drawing skills.
* Strong understanding of UK building planning and listed building regulations.
* Experience working on historic buildings or a keen interest in the sector.
* Experience across RIBA stages 4-7, with proven project management experience.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit skills are highly desirable.
* Eligible to work in the UK.
