Job Overview
Deputy SENCo at Deer Park School, a modern seven‑form secondary school in the RAISE Education Trust, supporting the SENCo in expanding the SEND department and ensuring inclusive provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the SENCo to develop and implement SEND strategies across the school.
* Provide pastoral and educational support to pupils with SEND.
* Lead and facilitate specialist staff training and professional development in SEND practices.
* Contribute to curriculum planning to embed inclusive practices.
* Analyse pupil progress data and report progress to leadership and parents.
* Advocate for student rights and model a culture of respect and responsibility.
* Participate in school governance and policy review related to SEND.
Qualifications & Experience
* Teaching qualification and secondary teaching experience.
* Knowledge of SEN legislation and best practice in inclusive education.
* Experience working with pupils with SEND, including those with complex needs.
* Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents and external agencies.
