Senior Associate, Production Services Application Support Analyst
This role is located in Manchester.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with Engineering, business units, and client-facing teams to support BNY Pershing developed and third‑party software applications in a dynamic environment.
* Provide application monitoring and support to internal technical and non‑technical teams, Client Support, external third‑party application support groups, and users of BNY Pershing hosted applications.
* Investigate and diagnose issues arising from software, business processes, usage, or recent software releases, routing unresolved problems to relevant teams.
* Proactively identify opportunities to improve monitoring, investigation, and incident resolution processes using AI tools and automation to streamline workflows and enhance response times.
Qualifications
* Technical skills:
o Excellent SQL scripting skills
o Knowledge of any scripting language such as PowerShell or VBScript
o Experience of using monitoring tools such as AppD, Splunk, Grafana, Cloudprober, Moogsoft
o Experience of using Azure and Snowflake technology
o Knowledge of multi‑tier application architecture
o Experience with web technologies and internet based applications
o Experience working with Production and Non‑production environments
o Experience with application recovery of priority incidents with limited support
o Understanding of Message Queuing (e.g., IBM WebSphere MQ or Microsoft MQ)
o Knowledge of issue/problem tracking system such as ServiceNow
o Experience with common AI tools (Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) to support troubleshooting, documentation and automation
* Soft skills:
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills
o Positive attitude towards the role and willingness to support all products and react to live problems with utmost priority.
o Ability to work with cross‑continental, cross‑culture support teams and coordinate between disparate disciplines.
o High level of professionalism when communicating with external clients and internal users to resolve problems.
o Ownership of problems and commitment to bring problems to closure while managing expectations.
o Results oriented, leading by example with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
o Continuous service improvement mindset to suggest improvements and drive change.
