About the role
As a Pharmacy Dispenser at Tesco, you will support everyday pharmacy operations, ensuring accurate dispensing of prescription medicines, delivering excellent customer service and contributing to the overall healthcare experience.
Working hours & pay
Pay: starts at £12.87 an hour, rising to £14.08 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply based on location.
We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week, with flexibility to work as few as 12 hours if desired.
Availability windows are provided below to match your schedule with ours. Shift details will be confirmed at least three weeks in advance.
Availability windows:
* Tue: 09:00 – 21:00
* Wed: 10:00 – 19:00
* Fri: 11:00 – 22:00
* Sat: 08:00 – 18:00
Responsibilities
* Support the daily operation of a modern pharmacy.
* Apply technical skills and customer focus to dispense medication accurately.
* Ensure prescriptions are dispensed with attention to detail and accuracy.
* Communicate confidently, friendly and professionally with customers, offering appropriate information.
* Provide advice on common ailments, symptoms and suitable products.
* Understand customer needs and recommend suitable goods.
* Inform customers of the range of pharmacy services available.
* Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and legal compliance.
* Handle clinical and legal queries within your competence.
* Respond to prescription-related enquiries and report complaints to the pharmacist.
* Maintain dispensary hygiene and a tidy environment.
* Ensure timely completion of all prescription administration.
* Engage in promotional activities and company initiatives.
* Maintain protocols to safeguard profit and legal compliance.
* Complete corporate and departmental training.
* Keep up-to-date with legal and professional developments in pharmacy.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience working in a pharmacy environment.
* Desire to further train and progress in the pharmacy field.

Eligibility
You must be over 18 years old and able to work the required hours, including any shift outside of 06:15‑09:45. Candidates under 18 can apply only for roles not requiring early‑morning or late‑night hours or physical duties.
