Deputy Director of Performance and Operations, CSS

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented, motivated and compassionate leader to join the Clinical and Scientific Service (CSS) Care Group within Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). This is a great opportunity to join a supportive and inclusive team that provides a diverse range of clinical services, including Anaesthetics, Critical Care, Imaging, Laboratory Medicine, Pharmacy and Allied Health Professionals, across each of MFT's ten hospitals.

Reporting to the CSS Director of Performance and Operations this role forms a key part of the senior management team and works closely with clinical, operational and corporate colleagues across the Trust, and beyond. As Deputy Director of Performance and Operations you will bring expertise of leading with purpose, a successful track record of managing performance and improvement and the ability to build strong and collaborative relationships with a range of stakeholders.

Main duties of the job

Working with the Director of Performance and Operations, the Deputy Director is responsible for the direct delivery of all patient services across the CSS Clinical Group. This involves:

* leading all aspects of performance management and service delivery.
* working to ensure the delivery of ambitious targets.
* developing and embedding a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
* working with colleagues to ensure that quality, performance, value. for patients and budgetary targets are monitored and delivered.
* leading delivery of a range of strategic plans and objectives.
* making a positive contribution to the provision of health services across the Clinical Group, the Trust and the local health and social economy.

Training and Experience

* Successful track record as a senior manager within an NHS organisation managing clinical services
* Demonstrate sound financial/staff management
* Evidence of effectively managing change
* Experience within an acute hospital setting


Knowledge

* Sound knowledge base of the NHS, the current issues, values and principles of timely local access


Qualifications

* Masters Degree or equivalent experience
* Evidence of continuing CPD
* Degree level education of equivalent
