Job Summary

We are a friendly, fully digital, data driven IPC team who plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high quality and safe care to our patients throughout the patients pathway. Main duties of the job

As a member of the team the post holder will provide advice to all disciplines of staff on infection prevention and control policy and practice.

The Post Holder will be required to participate in a 7 day service across the acute and community sector.

Responsibilities include audit, surveillance, education and training and management of alert organisms including outbreaks. The post holder will deputise for the Senior Infection Prevention and Control Nurse when necessary.

Applicants must be Registered Nurses with teaching experience. They will be required to work autonomously, able to prioritise workload and demonstrate effective skills in leadership, change management and communication. The post holder will be required to work across acute and community services therefore car driver/access to undertake community visits essential.

* Ability to work flexibly dependent on the needs of the service, including on occasion outside of core working hours in response to unplanned events
* Ability to work at different locations in the acute and community setting
* Moving and Handling UVC light and Hydrogen Peroxide Vapour equipment
* Ability to sit at workstations as necessary to input audit data / retrieve results
* Ability to access all ward and departments clinical and non-clinical to undertake IPC risk assessment
* Current full UK driving license and access to car to undertake community visits

Qualifications

Essential

* Registered General nurse
* Degree in nursing studies or healthcare related subject, or evidence of working towards degree completion. Degree must be completed within 3 years of commencing post
* Mentorship certificate / Practice Assessor training or demonstrable equivalent experience
* IPC knowledge
