Junior Production Assistant

OUBAS is a high-end knitwear studio based in Flookburgh, Cumbria. We are a small, kind and welcoming team, working closely together to create our collection of thoughtfully-made knitwear.
Due to continued growth, we're looking for an additional team member to support our production studio. This is an entry-level role, ideal for someone at the beginning of their career who would like to learn practical skills while working alongside us. No prior experience is needed — full training will be given. A friendly manner, attention to detail and a willingness to learn are most important.
We particularly welcome applications from local people, including those currently in education or training, who are looking for flexible part-time work to support their studies. There is potential to develop your skills and grow with us over time.
Hours can be arranged flexibly between Monday and Friday. Please let us know what days and times you are available when applying — we are happy to consider applicants with limited availability.
Salary
This role is paid hourly in line with the UK National Minimum / Living Wage. Rates are reviewed each April in line with government guidance.
Some of the tasks involved in the role include:
* Making and attaching product labels and swing tags
* Packing items ready to post
* Trimming yarns and finishing garments
* Light hand-sewing (such as buttons and labels)
* Steam pressing knitted panels
* Studio housekeeping duties
* Ad-hoc support within the production team

* Able to focus on detail and quality
* Curious about textiles or craft (useful but not essential)
