This QA Manager Job Isn’t for Everyone.\n\nIf you’re looking for a cosy compliance role where you just nod through audits and sign off a few specs, this ain’t it.\n\nThis one’s for the operator. The fixer. The one who’s had enough of being ignored when they flag issues, and wants to actually run the show when it comes to Quality.\n\nYou’ll be stepping into a fast-paced food manufacturing environment — one where standards matter, systems need sharpening, and the QA team needs someone to lead from the front, not from behind a desk.\n\nYou’ll own:\n\nA QA team that needs developing, coaching, and occasionally a bit of tough love\n\nThe co-management of HACCP — and we mean actually managing it, not just updating a dusty folder\n\nInternal audits, GMP, CLAS, lab sampling, and all the other good stuff that keeps the wheels on\n\nComplaint investigations that go past the surface – root cause, preventative actions, the full works\n\nCollaboration with production and engineering to make sure spec isn’t just a suggestion\n\nIt’s a big role.\n You’ll be right in the thick of it analysing data, fixing issues, improving systems, keeping auditors happy, and raising standards.
You’ll need to be confident, credible, and not allergic to spreadsheets or uncomfortable conversations.\n\nYou’ll need:\n\nA science or food science degree\n\nFood industry experience, ideally from the lab upwards\n\nSolid knowledge of BRC, HACCP (Level 4 ideally), and retailer codes of practice\n\nThe ability to lead people, manage issues, and influence across departments\n\nWhat’s in it for you?\n The chance to make real impact.
