Salary £32,061-£36,363 | 37 hours per week | Permanent, Full time | Financial Management | Lancashire
As the Schools Finance Officer, you will:
* Provide traded support to Lancashire schools, including budget monitoring, reconciliations, and communication with school bursars and senior leadership teams to ensure balanced budgets.
* Travel to schools across the county to deliver services as required.
* Work within a large supportive team that serves over 500 schools and academies.
Support statutory functions such as year‑end processes, grant allocations/funding payments, preparation of DfE returns (e.g., consistent financial reporting returns) and aiding academy conversions.
About you:
* Hold 5 GCSEs or equivalent maths and English grades A–C (grades 9–4 on the new grade scale).
* Excellent communication skills to advise and present information to senior staff and customers.
* Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, and adaptability to new financial systems.
* Self‑motivated, organised, and capable of handling complex issues accurately under pressure.
* Driving licence and car – essential for travel to schools.
