Title: Group Health and Safety Manager Location: Dudley West Mids Salary: c£60000 Car Profit Incentive Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Group Health and Safety Manager to oversee health and safety protocols across multiple locations in the UK and Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programmes to ensure a secure working environment for all employees - particularly the implementation of ISO 450001. The position is suitable for professionals committed to fostering a proactive safety culture within diverse organisational settings. Key Responsibilities: 1. Compliance & Regulatory Management Ensure full compliance with all relevant HSE legislation, regulations, and internal standards. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UK HSE regulations, ISO standards (e.g ISO 45001, ISO 14001), and best practices. Prepare for and lead external HSE audits, inspections, and regulatory visits. Manage environmental permits, waste handling requirements, and associated documentation. 2. Policy, Procedure & System Management Develop, review, and update HSE policies, procedures, and risk assessments. Maintain the HSE management system and ensure all documentation is current. Implement safe systems of work, including Permit to Work, Lockout-Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding standards, and confined space entry controls. 3. Training & Competency Design and deliver safety training programs for all employees, including inductions, manual handling, COSHH, emergency response, etc. Ensure competency requirements are defined and met, including for supervisors and permit issuers. Promote HSE awareness through toolbox talks, campaigns, and communication channels. 4. Risk Management & Continuous Improvement Lead risk assessments, PUWER assessments, and hazard identification processes. Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents; prepare detailed reports; and drive corrective and preventative actions. Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and workplace tours.
