Job Description: Maintenance Fitter
Our client, a leading manufacturer supplying the construction and residential sectors across the UK & Ireland, is recruiting a Maintenance Fitter. The successful candidate will carry out preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure efficient operations.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, dayshift. Over 40 hours are paid at a premium rate. This role offers a great opportunity for those looking to avoid shift work.
Qualifications and Experience
* Level 3 Engineering qualification or equivalent
* Maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment
Responsibilities
1. Perform maintenance and repairs on production equipment and facilities
2. Conduct mechanical and electrical repairs to minimize downtime
3. Fault find to resolve issues and identify root causes
4. Carry out planned maintenance and contribute to schedules
5. Ensure compliance with HSEQ standards and eliminate risks during maintenance
6. Record maintenance activities using software
7. Promote best practices in maintenance, quality, housekeeping, and H&S
8. Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments
Candidate Profile
* Level 3 qualified apprenticeship in Engineering or similar
* Proven maintenance experience in manufacturing/production
* Strong mechanical skills including welding and fitting
* Knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, drives, motors
* Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
