Job Title: SEMH Primary Teacher\n Area: Hillingdon, West London\n Start Date: September 2025\n Contract Type: Full-time, Temp-to-Perm\n Salary: Paid to Scale\n Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm\n\nBrief description:\n Teach and support KS1-KS2 pupils with SEMH needs in a therapeutic, specialist primary setting.\n\nAbout the school:\n A specialist secondary school in Hillingdon supporting students aged 11 to 19 with social, emotional and mental health needs. A primary provision has been introduced to support younger pupils requiring early intervention and tailored support. All students have an EHCP and benefit from a safe, inclusive environment with a curriculum designed to build confidence, resilience, and positive learning habits.\n\nAbout the role:\n We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN Primary Teacher to support young learners with complex SEMH needs.
You will plan and deliver structured, differentiated lessons that promote engagement, emotional well-being, and academic progress.\n\nWe're looking for a dedicated candidate to:\n\nCreate a nurturing and structured learning environment\nDevelop and deliver creative, targeted lessons across the primary curriculum\nEncourage social and emotional development through consistent behaviour strategies\nWork collaboratively with therapists, support staff, and families\nFoster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom cultureRequirements -\n\nQualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)\nExperience teaching primary pupils with SEMH or SEND\nExcellent behaviour management and emotional support strategies\nStrong understanding of safeguarding and child protection\nA calm, resilient, and adaptable teaching styleOnly shortlisted candidates will be contacted\n Prospero Teaching is acting as an employment business/education recruitment agency in relation to this vacancy.
