About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Technical Support Engineer to join our established engineering team based in Dover, Kent. In this role, you will be instrumental in providing expert technical support, troubleshooting, and application guidance for a diverse range of electrical testing and measurement products. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, hands‑on experience in electrical installations, and a customer‑centric approach. Qualifications
* HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or actively working towards a degree‑level qualification in the field.
* Hands‑on experience as an electrician within commercial or industrial environments.
* Strong understanding of electrical installation standards and testing procedures, such as BS7671 and BS2391.
* Solid knowledge of electrical power systems, measurement principles, and testing methodologies.
* Proficiency with IT systems, including MS Office applications and CRM platforms.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills with a focus on customer service.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Responsibilities
* Provide expert technical support to customers and distributors via phone, email, and other communication channels, ensuring timely and accurate assistance.
* Deliver on‑site technical support and troubleshooting services when necessary, maintaining high customer satisfaction.
* Support pre‑sales and post‑sales activities by acting as a primary technical contact, offering product insights and solutions.
* Create and maintain technical documentation, including application notes, competitor comparisons, and support materials to aid internal teams and customers.
* Participate in product development processes, including testing during alpha, beta, and launch phases, ensuring product quality and reliability.
* Assist in regression testing and validation of new products to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards.
* Conduct technical demonstrations at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events to showcase product capabilities and benefits.
* Maintain and manage demonstration equipment and departmental stock to ensure readiness for customer and internal use.
* Accurately record customer interactions, technical issues, and service activities within CRM systems for tracking and reporting purposes.
* Complete departmental reports, including visit summaries, monthly updates, and expense submissions, adhering to company procedures.
* Collaborate with internal teams such as sales, product management, and marketing to provide technical expertise and support strategic initiatives.
* Undertake additional duties such as testing services and workshop support as required to meet organizational goals.
