What will I be doing?

We take our role as a Corporate Parent seriously and you will be working to continue to improve the lives and opportunities for children in Somerset. The role involves:

* Operational responsibility for teams in the East of the County, care planning for children in our care and care experienced and providing statutory services.
* Working closing with partners to improve access to services for children and young people.
* Having a clear and unwavering focus on the quality of social work practice and achieving the best outcomes for vulnerable children.
* Utilise quality assurance activity to understand service strengths and areas for development.
* Promote a learning environment and positive culture for our workforce.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be. You will be required to be:

* Social Work Qualified
* Registered with Social Work England
* Possess evidence of continuing professional development in a specialist field.
* Knowledge and experience of working with children and young people who have experienced living in care

Anything else I should know?

The post will manage teams based in Mendip and South Somerset and you can be based in either Yeovil or Shepton Mallet.
