Blackwell Earthmoving is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our team and help ensure our customers’ earthworks are built right—first time, every time. This is a hands-on, site-based role where you’ll be instrumental in delivering high-quality civil engineering solutions in line with our company’s mission and values.
Responsibilities
* Conduct site surveys using GNSS and set out earthworks, including visualisation stake-out with batter rails and travellers.
* Review 3D models for machine control and assess works information (drawings, specifications, etc.).
* Collaborate with Foremen to determine optimal construction methods and prepare key documentation (Plans, RAMS, etc.).
* Ensure all QA processes are planned, executed, and documented, including ITPs and checklists.
* Perform soil quality checks, including plasticity and moisture content testing.
* Support short-term planning and assist site management with rolling-wave scheduling.
* Maintain commercial awareness and identify relevant events for the Commercial Team.
* Accurately record verbal instructions, including sketches and supporting details.
Qualifications
* Relevant experience in civil engineering or a similar field.
* Eligible to join (or already a member of) the ICE at graduate grade and working towards IEng status.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Existing right to work in the UK.
* A-levels (or equivalent) with grade B or higher in Maths, Further Maths, or Physics.
* Experience with an earthmoving contractor.
* Ambition to progress towards CEng status.
