The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). Part-time hours / sessional posts will be pro-rated accordingly.

Temporary maternity cover until 1st June 2027.
This is a 39-week sessional post working hours will be during school term time plus in-service days.
Days and Hours of Work:
Monday - Thursday, 08:30-16:00
To start 10th August 2026.
An opportunity has arisen for a school Business Administrator to lead the administrative function at St Mary's RC Primary School which encompasses a wide variety of tasks and a high standard of customer service for all our school community and stakeholders. The role requires excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel to support the financial monitoring and reporting required to assist the Head Teacher to manage the school budget effectively. Applications from experienced administrators who can demonstrate they are confident using spreadsheets to track financial transactions and with some HR or school experience would be welcomed. If you are well organised and can multi-task whilst being able to organise others; feel you are capable of using your initiative under pressure to meet deadlines and can deal with people on all levels this varied role offers a rewarding opportunity to be part of a small team and school community.

We are a Roman Catholic School, serving the needs of Roman Catholic and non-denominational pupils in Haddington, with 5 main stream classes and a nursery. Our School role is currently 112 and our nursery role approx. 80. St Marys RC Primary School shares a joint campus with Haddington Primary School, we have our own music room however share our gym hall and dinner hall. Working within the Council, we provide our staff with opportunities to develop their skills in-house.
