Overview
Glasgow City Council is Scotland's largest local authority. Its Chief Executive's Department wishes to appoint a solicitor to work within its busy Litigation team. The focus of the work will be advising and representing Glasgow City Council's Health and Social Care Partnerships in matters concerning vulnerable adults including adults with incapacity. You will work as part of a pre-existing team and may be called upon to provide other types of advice and representation to Social Work and other departments.
Hybrid working is available in this role. Responsibilities
* Provide legal advice and representation for Glasgow City Council's Health and Social Care Partnerships in matters concerning vulnerable adults including adults with incapacity.
* Work as part of the Council’s Litigation team and assist with other types of advice and representation to Social Work and other departments as required.
* Support the Council in meeting business needs while managing workload and maintaining professional standards.
Qualifications and requirements
* Qualified solicitor with entitlement to practice in Scotland (or equivalent).
* Experience in social care, health or public sector-related litigation or advice is desirable.
* Standard Disclosure is required; candidate will be responsible for the paid cost of disclosure.
