The role is for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel stepping up into a General Counsel position. It is a fully office-based role in the Heathrow Airport Area (5 days a week).

You will take a strategic view of our exposure to risk and provide necessary advice to mitigate it within our expanding and multifaceted business. You will offer legal advice and support to management on all relevant issues.

Duties & Responsibilities
1. Provide accurate and timely legal counsel to executives on various topics (commercial agreements, dispute resolution, corporate finance, and commercial law).
2. Oversee complex legal transactions from a project management perspective, ensuring appropriate input from all stakeholders and specialists.
3. Lead risk management strategies within the company.
4. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
5. Handle Company Secretarial duties.
6. Draft and formalize agreements, contracts, and other legal documents as needed.
7. Manage external counsel and consultants to ensure value for money.
8. Clarify legal language or specifications to relevant parties within the company.
9. Stay updated on legal developments and legislative changes.
Skills & Experience
* Legal Qualification – Qualified UK solicitor with at least 10 years PQE (considering other PQE levels and qualified lawyers from other common law jurisdictions eligible for QLT).
* Strong knowledge of corporate law, especially corporate finance, dispute resolution, and contracts.
* Methodical with attention to detail.
* Commercially oriented with a pragmatic approach to legal practice.
* Training from a reputable law firm and/or business environment.
* Proven experience as a legal counsel in a fast-paced setting.
* High ethical standards and integrity.
* Good judgment and analytical skills.
* Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Approximately 8 years of experience in a small to medium national law firm before transitioning into business.
