Bachy Soletanche are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor, to join our Ipswich and Leiston based team on one of the most significant infrastructure projects in the UK.
About the role:
Working as part of our Projects division, the Quantity Surveyor will be a key point of contact within the Commercial Team and will be part of a collaborative alliance delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support senior commercial team members while managing procurement and supply chain relationships.
2. Drive value for money and cost efficiency without compromising quality.
3. Measure, record, and value work independently, prepare Bills of Quantities, and build estimates from first principles.
4. Manage commercial activities, cost reconciliations, and stakeholder relationships.
5. Use ERP systems for cost and value tracking and ensure governance compliance.
What We’re Looking For
6. Essential: BSc/MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
7. Ideally working towards or holding professional membership (RICS, ICES, CIOB).
8. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to interpret technical drawings.
9. Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a focus on achieving results.
10. Previous commercial experience and industry knowledge are desirable.
It would be a bonus if you have:
11. Previous experience or exposure to NEC Contracts.
12. Piling/Earthworks/Civils experience.
